Technology is used to make processes more efficient. Innovation results in changes to our experiences, driving us to explore the needs of supply chain managers and suppliers through technology.
This is IFABER, a UniCredit company specializing in providing services and solutions for procurement and supply chain management, a subsidiary of UniCredit with shareholders including Salini Impregilo, ERG and Oracle.
A few days ago, the company opened the first edition of the User Experience Forum, a co-innovation project designed by the company in collaboration with Life-Interaction and H-Farm.
Ludovica Lardera, who has been CEO of IFABER for a year now, provides a brief summary of the company which boasts €19 million in revenue and a hundred employees and partners. How did the idea take shape? It was created to serve as an incubator for ideas that in turn can help to introduce innovations to the services and functions of the IFABER e-procurement platform with the IFABER community, with a view to improving the user experience and has taken on board the contribution of companies and users. More than 35 users representing IFABER's corporate clients operating in various sectors attended the event and were divided into seven working groups led by a team of procurement and innovation experts.
"We are thrilled with the success of this first open-innovation initiative, which will allow us to improve the functions of our platform, on the basis of the real needs expressed by buyers and sellers," declared Lardera, who was directly involved in the selection of the projects developed. "The fantastic enthusiasm demonstrated by our clients and the high level of creativity that characterizes the projects presented demonstrates the enormous potential for innovation in our community, which we aim to take full advantage of via initiatives like this, and by sharing our expertise, to promote digital evolution and grow the Italian procurement market ".
The seven groups devoted themselves to the task at hand with creativity and pragmatism, developing suggestions for vendor management, sourcing and supply collaboration on the platform. Among these, one of the groups working on sourcing presented the project to which the jury awarded the prize for the highest level of creativity, innovation and development potential.
The idea shared by the team working on vendor management was also commended, designed to promote supplier heritage in a global supply market. Finally, at the various workshops dedicated to supply collaboration, one team in particular developed an idea to facilitate increased communication and cooperation with suppliers.
