The event, which took place on Thursday, April 23 at the UniCredit Tower in Milan, was held specifically to encourage contributions from companies and users.
More than 35 users representing IFABER's corporate clients operating in various sectors - from services to manufacturing - actively participated in the event and were divided into seven working groups led by a team of procurement and innovation experts, focused on developing projects designed to introduce innovative new functions to the IFABER e-procurement platform. The proposals submitted were then judged by a jury of industry experts, innovators and influencers from the business community.
"We are thrilled with the success of this first open-innovation initiative, which will allow us to further improve the functions of our platform, on the basis of the real needs expressed by buyers and sellers," declared Ludovica Lardera, the CEO of IFABER who was directly involved in the selection of the projects developed. "The fantastic enthusiasm demonstrated by our clients and the high level of creativity that characterizes the projects presented demonstrates the enormous potential for innovation in our community, which we aim to take full advantage of via initiatives like this, and by sharing our expertise, to contribute to and promote digital evolution and grow the Italian procurement market.”
The seven groups devoted themselves to developing suggestions for vendor management, sourcing and supply collaboration on the platform. Among these, one of the teams working on sourcing presented the project to which the jury awarded the prize for the highest level of creativity, innovation and development potential. The idea shared by the group working on vendor management was also commended, designed to promote supplier heritage in a global supply market. Finally, at the various workshops dedicated to supply collaboration, one team in particular developed an idea to facilitate increased communication and cooperation with suppliers.
"The User Experience Forum proved to be an innovative and genuine opportunity for collaboration and debate, demonstrating the importance of networking in our industry to deliver new ideas and develop business opportunities," states Stefano Ziliani, Group Procurement Director for Ariston Thermo. "I was thrilled to see that the values expressed during the IFABER event are precisely those upon which the success of Ariston Thermo is built, and I am sure that the knowledge and experience that my colleagues will take away from this intensive day will generate benefits and inspiration throughout our company."
