The Procurement Executive Circle, an annual event organized by IFABER, was held on September 19-20, 2014 at H-Farm, the leading start-up incubator in Italy.
Established in 2005, H-Farm's objective is to help young entrepreneurs to launch innovative small businesses in the internet sector and to support the digital transformation of Italian companies. H-Farm was chosen as the venue of the 2014 edition of the event, in light of the emphasis placed by IFABER on innovation, in line with the company's own corporate DNA.
In 2014, around 30 Chief Procurement Officers and Heads of Purchasing attended the PEC, from a range of leading Italian and international companies. During the event, participants were provided with the opportunity to meet and explore a host of different themes, including: the global economic scenario, trends and the purchasing best practices of various major companies, with first-hand accounts from several CPOs (for companies such as Lavazza and Ikea), the potential evolution of the role of the Purchasing division as a financial "hub" for the supply chain, and innovation as a tool for change in procurement and elsewhere.
At the end of the first day, a debate was held before dinner, presided over by Massimo Sideri from the Corriere della Sera, on the theme "Innovation as the only possible path", which involved: Paolo Fiorentino, Deputy General Manager and COO of UniCredit, Roberto Bonanzinga Venture Partners, Balderton Capital and Vito Lomele, founder of Job Rapido. On the second day of the event, a range of Innovation Lab activities were staged in collaboration with H-Farm, in which participants were asked to design an innovative supply chain concept.
Participants were invited to come back in Spring 2015 for the new edition of the PEC.
